Registration for Summer Art Camp is opening soon!
Camps will be shorter this year, but on the bright side, there will be two sessions--each catering different age groups! These mini art camps will feature printmaking, clay and other mixed media projects at the Pérez Montoya residence in Woodland. More details about location, payments and camp agreements can be found through registration.
Session 1 ( ages 6-10) Mon June 11th- Tues June 12th
Session 2 ( Ages 10-13 ) Mon June 18th- Tues June 19th
For both sessions:
Drop Off: 8:30-9:00 Pick Up: 3:00
$55 per camper, all materials included
Although a light snack and beverages will be provided, campers must bring a lunch
Each session ends with an exhibition of student work from 3:00- 3:30 ( June 12th & June 19th.) . Friends and family are welcome to join.

Root Division's annual spring fundraiser is back! It's a great excuse to eat food, snoop in the artists' studios ( mine included) see an incredible variety of work and be fancy. Over 80 local artists and businesses participate in this food-inspired shindig.
This mini art camp features painting and sculpture!

Graciously hosted by I.S.S.S.T.E. Centro Cultural in Guanajuato, GTO. Mexico this collaborative exhibition will feature the works of past and current artists-in-residence of art collective Aguas Migrantes: Susa Cortez, Vreni Michelini Castillo, Ana Gloria Bedolla, Onyinye Alheri, Plino Hernández, Alejandra Pérez, Maggie Lawson, Ellisa Callen, Rachel Stallings and Omar Navia.
Aguas Migrantes, a bay area based arts collective is beginning its 2nd annual summer residency program in Guanajuato. MX . We will all learn from each other's workshops, visit Guachimontones in Guadalajara, attend an international film festival, work spend time in both urban and rural parts of the state, gather in community spaces and have a final exhibition at the end of the residency. Community workshops open to all ages will be held in La Loma, GTO July 23 and in GTO, Capital July 28th.

Speaking Walls, Youth Empowerment
Have your voices heard in our upcoming social justice + mural workshop! Students will explore and discuss murals in the city to further understand how public art is an undeniable means to express and represent youth's voice. In addition, students will learn different mural techniques including wheatpaste, spray paint and stenciling among others. as well as collaborate on a mural of their own design.

The mission of Aguas Migrantes is to connect a diverse group of artists to our communities through art by exploring and learning about the cultural productions of Guanajuato, with an interchange for exposure to new art techniques. We are expanding our workshops and raising funds for our free public art talleres in Guanajuato. Our campaign ends June 30th! Every bit helps!

In collaboration with Root Division and Southern Exposure, I've been working one on one with a talented (and patient!) highschooler these past few months. His drawings of friends from back home in Guatemala and fútbol will be shown in conjunction with other teen artists.

Pairs passionate young artists with professional artist mentors who provide valuable individual guidance, develop goals, and share skills, knowledge and expertise with their mentees. Aguas Migrantes invites you to apply to our 2017 Summer Artist Residency : Trueque. This is a unique opportunity to engulf yourself in rural and urban areas of Guanajuato, Mexico.
